OHP_75Lucia di Lammermoor, Opera Holland Park, London
…conducted with style and elan by Jeremy Silver…
Hugh Canning, The Sunday Times

Jeremy Silver conducted the RPO in a powerful reading of the score
and the chorus was on cracking form.
Peter Reed, Sunday Telegraph

The cast and conductor, Jeremy Silver, leap on the roller-coaster with abandon… every phrase is taut, every note full of passion, every emotion full-blooded.
Warwick Thompson, Metro

…magnificently conducted by conductor Jeremy Silver…Conductor Silver shows his evident respect for and love of the music and drama of this Verdi warhorse… Orchestra members said Silver had set a high bar for them, demanding that they give individual emotional texture to each measure of the extended orchestral moments. And they did.
Brooks Spector, The Sunday Independent

Conductor Jeremy Silver is as exciting as he is subtle in his conducting. He gave an expansive reading. Yet, he did not eliminate drama and variety of expression. By keeping a vigilant eye on the singers, he allowed the music to convey its pristine beauty, replete with stylistic fizz. The JPO reciprocated with stirring and idiomatic input.

Jeremy Silver conducted with élan and as if he believed in every note.
It’s the only way, and it worked wonderfully.
Francis Muzzu, Opera Now

[The other discovery of this Huguenots was the conductor, Jeremy Silver, in front of the Orchestre National de Lorraine in a state of grace: precise gestures, clear textures, uniformity across the whole orchestra – a young conductor who knows his Meyerbeer and must be followed very closely.]

[At the helm of a superb Orchestre National de Lorraine, Jeremy Silver admirably maintains the dramatic tension throughout the whole work (nearly 3h40 of music despite several cuts) thanks to his incisive and energetic conducting. Furthermore he doesn’t forget to bring out all the richness of the orchestration. Most importantly he is respectful of the voices and knows how to lovingly accompany the soloists in their post-bel canto expressive freedoms. In short, excellent work.] Placido CARREROTTI, Forumopera

[The musical direction of Jeremy Silver, which we were able to enjoy here in Les Huguenots last season, suits this opera very well. He emphasizes the woodwind and supports them with a carpet of strings which never smothers the rest of the orchestra. Lots of panache in this orchestral treatment and a great lesson in conducting.]

[The English conductor Jeremy Silver was once again at the helm of the Orchestre National de Lorraine, which he had already led with great success in Les Huguenots last June. We were very happy to experience again his spectacular and energetic conducting and an orchestra on great form.] Michel THOME, Forumopera

OHP_75Le Nozze di Figaro, Opera Holland Park, London
…a brisk and expressive reading… as beautifully phrased and cultured as you will hear.
Robert Thicknesse, The Times

Rigoletto, Opera Africa, State Theatre, Pretoria, South Africa
Jeremy Silver, the newly appointed principal conductor for Opera Africa, skilfully guides the cast and orchestra with a clear sense of purpose.
J Brooks Spector, The Sunday Independent

Opera Africa’s staging is most gratifying when it comes to sheer sound. The Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra produces ravishing music under the baton of the visiting English conductor Jeremy Silver…
